Picking up the pencil

This was a little tricky in getting the pencil to stay consistent. It's very short, but a great study.

I thought I'd give this mouse walk cycle that Don Bluth posted on his website to learn from. Tried to get the secondary motion with the hair. Still needs work, but it's a good start.

"Harold And Garth" bathroom scene

Here's an animatic from the script I'm working on for "Harold And Garth". I know, I know, a hand drawn film? Hey, a guys gotta dream right? The drawings are rough, but I wanted to get a quick feeling of the characters and try to get the scene placement I saw in my head.

Garth is looking for advice on girls. One girl is popular while the other is the goofy next door neighbor. There are things he likes in both of them, but he doesn't know where to start in making a good choice. Here we see Garth entering the bathroom and knocking on Harold's massive tub (he's a Hippo, they like lots of water). Anyway...enjoy!

Head turn with hat!

This was a great exercise in secondary movement.

Eric Goldberg Dog Head Turn

Turn that head. I'm loving Eric's book. The inbetweening was fun and brings great results. Teach me oh Mickey Mouse shirted Mentor! I added a video of Eric talking about the "Master Of The Charts" Ken Harris.

Eric Goldberg's Dog Walk Cycle

I finally finished the dog walk cycle from Eric Goldberg's book "Character Animation Crash Course". It took a while but it was worth seeing how smooth things look on 1s. Thanks Eric for a great book!
